Zoo Zurich is one of Europe’s leading zoological gardens, attracting over 1.2 million visitors each year. Since its founding in 1929, the zoo has been dedicated to presenting animals in naturalistic habitats and raising awareness for wildlife and nature conservation.

Covering an area of 27 hectares, the zoo is home to over 370 animal species from around the world. Highlights include:

Masoala Rainforest: A 11,000 m² hall replicating the Madagascan rainforest, home to free-roaming lemurs, chameleons, and exotic birds.

Kaeng Krachan Elephant Park: A spacious habitat for Asian elephants featuring swimming pools and underwater viewing areas.

Lewa Savannah: An African savannah landscape with giraffes, rhinoceroses, zebras, and more.

Zoo Zurich is actively involved in international conservation projects in Madagascar, Kenya, and Thailand. It is also the only zoo in Europe to have successfully bred Galápagos giant tortoises.
